She didn’t seem concerned with that. She did ask as soon as I reacted if I was pregnant (worried about ectopic) but all tests were negative. Pain at it’s worse is 5-6 depending on how I’m laying. I did get some ibuprofen and it’s eased some. If it worsens at all, we’ll be going to A&E. No fever or nausea.
Glad ibuprofen has helped! *fingers crossed* the pain keeps going down.

Heat(either hot bath or heating pad) and ibuprofen. Hopefully you'll get your scan soon.

I’ve been alternating hot bath with paracetamol although I know it doesn’t help with inflammation. Hoping I get the scan soon too. Just whacked my hip on the stair rail.  :\\\'(

My OH had a scan scheduled within a week for something related to his testicles. My GP is fairly good about women issues, so I’m quite lucky. I would call 111. Sometimes they can push you into the Gp quicker or get you somewhere else quicker than waiting g for the GP to do it.

I’m truly sorry you’re going through this. I had them when I was younger but they’ve seemed to cease. I’m thinking about you and hope you get a solution quickly.

Thank you. I’m going to give it until Friday and then call and see if anything has been booked for the scan. I’m good at being pushy  :D

Ok here is my take (lay expert on female issues because of my two and a half year struggle with infertility).

3 cm cysts can be very very very normal. You ovulate from cysts every cycle you ovulate Generally the single cyst is anywhere from 18-35mm.

The bulge and (extreme) pain are much less usual. This could be your body trying to get back into a cycle after birth control. It takes some women a LONG time to get back into a cycle, during which their body repeatedly tries to ovulate (unsuccessfully, as you generally ovulate once a cycle).

When undergoing IVF I had bulges and pain on both sides - like a full bloated feeling, but I had 20+ cysts measuring at least 15mm... so it's a bit strange and worth a scan to see what's going on with you!!

Hang on - were those cysts 'chocolate cysts' aka endometriomas? A really good sonographer can tell the difference. Might be something to ask when you get in there...

Yea it’s not normal for sure. Never had any swelling or bulge with the other ones so if it is one, I suspect it’s much bigger.  I’ve had 3 total. One was 1cm and the other two were both 3cm. Funny that I had one on the left at the same time as one on the right and didn’t even know it lol. I had a lot of pain from the right one (1cm) and no pain from the left one (3cm).

The previous weren’t chocolate cysts. They were simple/functional cysts. All fluid filled and resolved with hormone therapy. No signs of any endometriosis on my last gyne visit.

I’m hoping it is just my body trying to regulate. I’ve been on and off Nuvaring several times over the last 10 years and always went back into a regular cycle after stopping.

Still waiting to hear when I can get the scan.

Still no word on a scan appointment. I asked the nurse at my GP’s office about wait times and she said it could take longer than the projected 7 weeks per NHS Scotland’s site says! Geez! I did just find out today that my hormone levels are ‘normal’ whatever that’s supposed to mean lol. I’m getting a copy of them Thursday to interpret that  ;D. Pain is better but not gone and swelling has reduced so that’s something!

Yep currently on CD 110. Think I may have finally ovulated last week just a few days before the blood work. We’ll see lol

Cycle day 110? What?  And your hormones are "normal"?  Are you normal weight?

I know! Lol! I may have finally ovulated so I’m guessing that’s why now they’re ‘normal’. Nope, been overweight for a good bit of adulthood but have put on 10lbs since coming off birth control. They checked thyroid and it was normal. Now that my pain is almost gone, I can start back on the elliptical  :D

So...I walked down and picked up my print out of my bloods. Normal, right? Well.....NO! I even called back down there when I got home because one of my hormone levels (only one they even checked) is through the roof! Reception still said 'oh it's in the normal range'...there isn't even a range listed dear.  So i asked if I could speak with the NP or GP about the results.

Almost immediately, GP calls me back and relentlessly apologized saying that clearly my FSH is extremely elevated and that is indeed not normal. I get how they overlooked it. All the results that are abnormal usually show in red and this one is one of the ones that doesn't. You have to actually look for it.

I spoke with her for a good bit and after asking me several questions about inability to have a cycle/conceive and history of cysts she's sending me to the lab again (checking all hormones this time) and referring me to a fertility clinic.

I'm still very upset about the level of the FSH and worried it could mean the end of any possibility of conceiving but she said keep trying until we know for sure.

Blood work is Tuesday and see her on Halloween for the followup from the results.  :\\\'(

There are options so don't panic yet! It's good you knew to review your bloods. Glad they are doing the referral and I hope they have a treatment plan quickly.

I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed! I told the doctor 'I'm a nurse, you can't just tell me normal...i need lab values!'.  Even if everything was really normal, I still would've wanted to know actual levels. So glad I did now!
