Wow!~  That's like the 1960s!  I remember my first paycheck used my initials in front of my last name. I went to the bank to cash it and the teller insisted that I have my husband sign the check because it must be his. Took a trip to the Bank Manager to get that sorted. Never got an apology, either.  I was hoping those days were gone forever!

I won't lie, that's how it felt at first.  I know the truth is just because my husband happened to be the one who had internet access the day our account was opened, so he put in his own name.  The phrase "health and safety gone mad!" needs to be updated for the Internet age:  "GDPR gone mad!"

My problem with Tesco is where I live, I don't have an alternative.

I live near 'Tesco Town' and they've certainly got the market share. We do have a crap ASDA (yuck) and  I have a Sainsburys not far away from home either, but it's quite small.  Lidl and Aldi and Co-Op and M&S too. But Tesco is the best.   But I don't get grocery delivery either.

Nan, there are still a LOT of practices in the UK that have a 1950's vibe.

Don't get me started on "Title" being a required field for EVERYTHING.  What does it matter if I'm a Miss, Mrs., or Ms.?  Men have one option....   ::)

Ha, my MIL worked as an admin assistant for the council of all places,  a few years ago before retiring and these old guys insisted on being called 'Mr. So and So' and using 'sir'. And they treated her as if she still was a secretary in the 1950s/1960s. And that drove my MIL crazy. I told her I would have been fired about three seconds into the job for insubordination and I would have been proud of it.   ;D

I chose "Ms.", which was invented as an alternative to the marital distinction of "Miss" or "Mrs."  It's the woman's answer to "Mr."

I have been known to pick Lord when it's given as an option.  ;D

When we were signing up for the Caravan Club (to get a discount on our insurance rate for our campervan), my husband randomly chose "Count".  I think he outranks the Sir who lives on the property behind ours.

I do this too. I get so annoyed having to give a title!

A friend of mine selected "judge" when doing his PPI refund.  And couldn't cash his check.  BWAHAHAHAHA

Hahahah!  THAT is funny.  Caravan Club does't matter.  They're not going to be sending us cheques any time soon.  But if you're applying for a PPI refund, you should expect that money is coming your way (if you're owed it).  Silly man.

He is a functional alcoholic...  though wasn't functional at the time as he walked in front of a bus.  He spent two weeks in the hospital....

He was hospitalized for two weeks, but the bus didn't make it.  Amazing.  I think he can safely keep "functional" in his description, with that result.  :)

I completely think that food costs more in the UK and even going out to eat. I think you can get more for your money in the states and for most things the food lasts longer.

The hubs and I started using Hello Fresh when I was over there last. It's great for people who don't have time to shop. Also perfect if you like trying new meals. I would recommend it!

Also, another thing about going out to eat... It was hard at first for me to get used to the fact that everyone gets starters before their main meal! The "appetizers" in the states are HUGE and that's what I thought it would be so I would always pass on the starters. Most of them are actually just a little portion. My hubby always get them, hes a little bit of a fatty who loves his food haha
