How often do you go back to U.S?

How often do you guys go back to U.S?

Other than to see your families, what other purposes?

I think I need to go back once or twice a year to shop things I can't get here

There are a lot of things I thought I could get here but I can't

what a first world problem I have lol

We go back once a year.  And my parents come here once a year.  It works for us.

It's important to have it built into your household budget.  I really feel for people who have been here for years and do not have the means to go back.  Many people have no desire to - which is great.  But for those that do have the desire and not the means, I'm sad for. 

What products are you missing?  We may be able to help a bit.

What are some of the things you've not been able to find?  We might be able to help you source them.

You'll also find that you adapt to what is available here, over time.

But visit as often as makes you happy!  :)

I'm one who has never gone back!  I have the means, but if I spend that much money, I want it to be worth it.  ;)

I get my essentials shipped because I've been allergic to every shampoo I've tried over here. The import fees are a pain, but much cheaper than a flight!

Depending on what you're looking for, there may be suitable replacements that are just named differently or only available in specialty shops online. I found that for quite a few things. I will be doing my shoe shopping in the US, but orthotic shoes are so well built they last years. My hips aren't made for the UK either. I stopped in a store with a fitting room to see what size I am, and just nope.

And right now, we just go to Florida to visit my parents.  Went to Atlanta for my cousin's wedding once.

As our kids get older, our annual trip will be to different parts of the USA and we'll have my parents meet us.  And one of these years, I hope to see my brother and his family.   ;)

No more often than once a year, to visit our daughter, and she visits us. No trip back this year but in March we are taking a Panama cruise from Fort Lauderdale to LA then stay a few days with our daughter.

Sorry to be a first world problemer but the variety of cosmetics and their shades ( NARS, Urban decay, Smashbox) are much less here than in U.S
More selections for Nail polish in U.S.
(In other words, No Sephora in UK )
My comparison is purely based on NY vs London.

Also lack of xxs size ( More smaller sizes available in U.S) and generally more selections for shoes in U.S as well.
U.S teeth whitening brands and their effectiveness,too
I sound like a pain in the neck;)

Yeah... The US to UK size number difference still hurts my pride... But as long as I don't keep creeping up the numbers I'm currently okay with where I'm at as I know what the equivalent is in the US.

I am a UK 4.5 in shoes and they don't have them everywhere so I've not been getting a lot of shoes here, which is frustrating.

Have you been in Debenhams for makeup? A friend of mine is constantly winning things with their beauty club.

If you have the funds to go home twice a year to go shopping then by all means do, but I think a trip to cities in Germany, France or Italy would probably have nice cosmetics and small sizes. May be worth exploring a little more ;)
