That is what I would do, I would attend the in-person appointment with the most recent version of the paper form and I would take the  older version of the form as backup!
That is exactly what I would do. I would like to think that, as you already paid under the old system, they cannot possibly expect you to pay again.

Married 1966, left UK 1969, returned 1998, left again 2000, returned June 2014 (husband on spousal visa) granted FLR(M) November 30th 2016  and ILR on  24th May, 2019. Yeah!

Thank you larrabee and Michali, I really appreciate your support. It is such a horrible, stressful process and we have been unable to enjoy being married due to it.

The thought of being refused simply because we tried to be as prepared as we could by booking in advance of the changes just boggles my mind. We literally have everything ready, and then this hit us like a ton of bricks.

Surely people had in person appointments yesterday and are having them today so how could they expect them to use the new process?

Do you guys think I should include the PDF of the online application form that I filled out? It states that it's partially completely because I haven't paid for it (I already paid in October).

And should I include a cover letter about the current circumstances as well?

You could print it and take it with you, then hand it over if they ask for it.

That's the good thing about applying in person: you can take more than you need with you, so you have it available just in case :).

Since you are applying in person, you can just explain the circumstances to them if they ask. No need for a letter, because you will be standing in front of them :).

I was just reading through the updated Appendix FM 1.7 and this has kind of confused me.

3.3.8 Where Appendix FM-SE requires the applicant to provide specified evidence relating to a period which ends with the date of the application, the evidence must be dated no earlier than 28 days before the date of application.

Our application submission is November 13th and my husband's October payslip is dated for the 19th, so that's 26 days ....

That's fine, then :). You're within the 28 days :).

Just counting it, it's actually 25 days, not 26, so you have a 3-day leeway :).

As long as your latest payslip, latest bank statement and the employer letter are dated on or after 16th October, you'll be fine.

It's not an update though, the 28 days deadline has been in place since the financial requirement was introduced on July 9th 2012.

That's a relief, I've always known about the 28 day rule, just the particular wording threw me off. Lol

The partially completed online form that I've printed is the most convoluted and confusing thing ever. It gives you no option to choose which financial category you're applying under.

It only has 4 options to choose from and 3 of them insist that you provide 12 months of bank statements and payslips. The other one seems to only be for people who meet the financial requirement on their own.

My husband and I were combining our income and we meet the requirement under cat A. I looked at the appendix again and all of the information seems to be the same.

I'm so confused. ???

Out of interest, which part of the wording was confusing? The wording hasn't changed, so I'm wondering what threw you off now, compared to before.

Yeah, I haven't seen all of the online form myself, but from what others have said, it contains confusing and ambiguous questions which make no sense!

The important thing is:

Don't let yourself be confused by it.

- You know you meet the requirements.
- The paper form shows you meet the requirements.
- Your documents meet the requirements.

So don't let a badly-designed online form, that you probably don't even need anyway, throw you off :).

You see I have read it before but worded as "no later than". Forgive me, I'm a bundle of nerves and I'm picking holes in everything. :-[

I'm hoping they accept what we have as is, this is just so stressful. Going to fill in the new paper form tomorrow and double check all our documents.

It is stressful and UKVI being their usual vague selves isn't helping. I'm sure they'll do something crappy like this just in time for me to apply for ILR next summer.

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

All will be FINE!  They are very friendly and helpful at the appointments.  We’ve had people arrive and be told something needs to be on an updated form before.  If that happens, they will give you the relevant pages (that contain the changes) and you fill it out there.  You would never be expected to pay again!

Try to relax.  You’ve got everything you need.  If the staff have any questions, they will ask.   :D

Thanks so much guys. :)

It's nice to know that they'll be understanding of the current situation. I just pray that it all goes smoothly! I'm going to present them with the old form but bring the PDF online form and the new paper form with us just in case.

I'm also praying that they accept my husband's employer letter as Tesco doesn't have letter headed paper anymore. They used their official stamp on it as is the new procedure for official letters from them.

They mentioned that they no longer have headed paper on the letter as well so hopefully that will be enough.

Since I am switching from a Tier 5 visa to FLR M, should we include our flight and hotel reservations and pictures of us together before we lived together and were married?

We've printed out everything, I'm just unsure if we should submit it with the application at our appointment.

Yes, it’s a good idea to include that evidence to show you have been in a genuine relationship, and that you aren’t marrying and applying for FLR(M) just as a way to stay in the country after your Tier 5 expires.

Remember, because you are applying in person, you can take a ton of extra stuff with you just in case - so if you’re not sure, just take everything with you and then you will have it on hand in case they need it.
