Ok, today's lesson went well.

A few minors, I think: signaling too early coming up to a roundabout, signaling too early for a turn (there was a small lane hidden behind cars that I didn't realize was there where I should not have signaled until passed for a later turn), and a slightly cut corner.
I did the parallel parking thing! I did the parallel parking thing!

I did the pull forward into a bay thing. I did the double-roundabout switch from turn left to turn right. Did the onramp and offramp, the crowded streets with kids darting. Did the school zone. Did the construction zone diversion. Crossed major roads. Went down crappy little bouncy one-way lanes.
Got a "that's better" out of the instructor at the end of the lesson. No longer terrified to drive here.

Two more lessons to polish up (backing into bays is still a major problem for me) and then my practical test at the end of next week. I am feeling better about it.
Then I can book a flight home, with a rental car.

I'd really like to go back to visit - we have a very elderly friend who is not doing well. I don't want to miss getting to see and talk to her one last time.
