Thanks, all. It arrived in the mail today. I'm now "official." I look remarkably like my father, I have to say. (sigh) My hair (which is white) disappears into the background, too! But I've got a "full" license now (with restrictions to automatic transmissions). With the little EU flag up the top left, and the UK flag on the right side. Probably one of the last with the EU flag - I wonder if they'll make me get a new one because of that, after March? (I assume not.)
And I had missed this bit, but it's not good for 10 years. It's good until I turn 70, and then I have to renew it every 3 years. Which is ok, I can do it online and all, with the approval of my doctor. And not unreasonable, really. The last thing I ever want to do is be one of those old ladies I used to make fun of when I was a teenager - they drove big cars, wore big hats, had blue hair, sat on like three pillows so all you saw was the hats as they reached up for the steering wheel, drove down the middle of the road, and went like 5mph because they either couldn't see worth a damn or their reactions were so slowed with age.
Apparently I'm allowed to drive a tractor, too.
