The rain seems to be bouncing off my window as pellets tonight....

I've been waiting on snow all day. Was disappointed to see rain when I got out of work.

Yeah, it looks like "the weather" was north, northeast, and northwest of us. We had a dusting of snow early on, and rain on and off (not frozen) and some sleet. But I see no accumulation of ice - just puddles.  Perhaps outside of the city has had it worse.

The way the MET was carrying on I was expecting another ice age.

We have snow on the ground now but I don't expect it to still be there in the morning.

The southeast united states received a historic snow fall. North Carolina and Virginia experienced one foot of snow in most places and the mountains saw two feet of snow. Cities like Greensboro NC had more snow than they had seen in the last 80 years and we are only in the month of December.

Yeah, West Texas got a foot as well. They are ~not~ equipped to deal with that, so I would imagine it just shut down out there until it all melted!~

I think Amarillo did get a lot of snow. Much of North Carolina shut down for at least 4 days until the temperatures got above freezing. The mountain cities fared a bit better because they do occasionally receive enough snow to justify investment in snow plows. Asheville was hit with nearly two feet of snow but it still took them about three days to recover.

My kids live just outside of Raleigh. They got 11 inches. Usually 1 inch shuts down Raleigh but they did remarkably well with 11 inches.

After living almost 10 years in central Texas, I can say for a fact I miss the UK winters. I also miss the UK summers because, as many of you already know, Texas may as well be the face of the sun in summer time.

I'm in Amarillo, born here, but lived down south of San Antonio a while, that was a bit too humid, but I didn't suffer from as many sinus infections as I have all my life here, allergic to dust and tumbleweeds  ::) ... my husbands friends all ask how I am going to do where it's colder... he reminds them of our odd weather where day's can go from 26 F to 60 F in one day haha... speaking of.. we were in the 30's F last week and up to 62 F by Friday.. so I think I should be ok... :D
