Hello,
Me (UK) and my partner (US) will be applying for the initial VISA in February of next year, and I've been collecting documents prior to this 6 months.
I've been put in a tricky situation, where I've got to have surgery next Thursday. (The NHS put me on a waiting list but I didn't think they'd give me such short notice for the date... I was hoping it'd be next year).
I've ran out of holiday at work, and I've been told I may need up to 2 weeks downtime after the surgery. I don't get paid company sick pay.
I understand I should get statutory sick pay.
I make £19,250 which is over the requirement, but I'm concerned that:
1. I'll have less money on my payslip, different to the others... Making my application complicated?
2. Having 2 weeks of unpaid leave will push me under the £18.6k requirement
I have a second job, which actually pushes my salary from up to 24-25k a year but I didn't want to use this on my application, as it's a 3 hour contract, but the hours actually vary considerably.
Anyone have any suggestions? If I cancel this operation, I'll have to get re-referred via the GP and it will take up to a year. If I do this operation, and I happen to be under £18.6 then I'd have to wait another 6 months which will cause it's complications. Thanks.
