Haha....anxiety has been getting the best of me. I plan to travel in the 2nd week of the Visa. Giving myself enough time. I have an entire apartment to pack up.

my dilemma is my employer is paying my ticket and wants me to work thru Jan to train whomever he hires... In reality I hope to get home before the end of Jan.. but will just have to wait to see what the Visa date is. all this and find a ticket within a good price range  ::)
Oh, i feel you on packing, I've given most things away or tossed away (moving so much and a divorce didn't leave me with many things to worry with.. I am just comin with a couple suitcases and  carry on .. I do have a box to ship next month.

I know you guys feel like the email is a waste but I have seem several applicants in other groups get traction because of emailing them.

Plus with everything getting lost or misplaced or problem with the scanning hub. I just decided to email them.

I've seen another person with dependents receive the link after 15wds and her decision has been made email came at 31wds. So I'm not sure if they have changed the process a little.

We've just seen the emails and phone calls send FAR too many people into a panic over the years.  I'm glad it makes you feel better though.  That's all that matters.  :)

As an outsider looking in, following trends.... while the scanning system is an absolute mess, Sheffield are doing awesome with the timelines.  It's right at 6 weeks for priority based on when the application arrived in NYC which is fantastic for this time of year.  So I'd really encourage anyone within that timeframe to sit tight.  The application WILL be processed and Sheffield are doing a great job of contacting applicants for missing documentation.  :)

Thank you.  I don’t think I am near a panic point yet.  I I do still check my email often just to hopefully see something saying they have them. I know they got them but it would be nice for an email.

Yeah I'm just sitting trying to make myself not too crazy. Have 2 more weeks to patiently wait. It's hard not to receive any communication though.

The lack of transparency in the process is truly shocking!  No doubt about it.  With all the technology available this day and age - there is NO excuse for the lack of information available to the applicant.

What I do find really annoying is that email that say priority isnt guaranteed, why offer a service if you cant provide it. I feel like that's just blindly robbing us. Saying oh by the way I know you paid for this but I cant guarantee it. I feel like I will be getting an NSF email annoyed and here comes the weekend.

What they mean by that is that all priority does is get your application put to the front of the line, so it is picked up earlier than non-priority. That's where the priority service ends... so all you are doing is paying to jump some of the queue.

If your application is then classed as non-straightforward (i.e. missing documents, or criminal convictions, or previous refused visas, or perhaps there are children involved), then all bets are off, and it takes as long as it takes to be decided... which is why they don't recommend using priority if you have had criminal convictions or refused visas in the past, so that you don't go into it with expectations of a fast turnaround. However, we do recommend using priority anyway, because even with a non-straightforward application, using priority is likely to be faster than not using it.

But on a side note I've started to purge and pack up my apartment. I have to move out by Feb, so I need to downsize anyway.
