What are the validity dates on the vignette guys? Are these dates that you can travel between? So if you miss the final date your Visa becomes void?

They are the dates you can travel between. If you miss them, there's a process to replace the vignette but it costs around $200 and you need to send your passport away again which is the last thing you'll want to be doing!

OH MAMA

You should have put your Intended Travel Date on the application form - this is the date that will be put on the visa vignette and you will have 30 days to enter the UK.... although lately they have been making it valid starting 7 days before the date you put on the form.

If the date you put has passed before the visa is issued, they will instead make it valid for 30 days from around the date that the visa is decided.

You just have to enter the U.K. and pick up your BRP card within those 30 days ... the BRP card is your actual visa, so once you have it, you can come and go from the UK. What some people do is fly over within the 30 days, pick up the BRP, and then return to the US to tie up loose ends.
