The end of Premium Service Centres?
« on: November 16, 2018, 05:48:57 PM »
I had my FLR (m) today in Glasgow (which I got, yay!) and I over heard them tell 2 others that "there are no more in-person application appointments."....I'm not sure what the discussion was prior but I did notice that once November appointments were full, they never released anymore dates for December. I was checking them religiously at 6pm every night in the US and they never released another appointment date passed November (we live in Hull, so we wanted a Sheffield appointment but had to settle for Glasgow).  I couldn't find a specific thread about this and just wanted to know what you guys heard about this as you guys are the Guru/Gods/Goddess of information (honestly, I wouldn't have been able to do this entire process without you guys!! SO grateful!).  I have 2.5 years to prepare for the next one but want to know what I'll be going up against haha!

Thanks
Erica

Yes, they are turning the whole application process to a new commercial for-profit company called Sopra Steria.

That is, as if G4S,  Capita, Atos and Serco have  not already done enough damage in our country.

In is fascinating how ours is the only developed government in the world that cannot run its own bureaucracy itself.

And they always find new and newer ways to rip off the people and have the private sector profit from it.

Most appallingly, they are doing away with POSTAL applications as well.

This is all even before I get into how much I hate the whole idea of all this scanining and various for profit application assistance services.

I am so confused....how do you apply for things then? And why the hell is the home office no longer going to be doing these things?  What the hell is going on with everything? Why is everyone subcontracting everything?.... blah!
