Hi guys... can I just ask what websites you use to find decently priced flights to the US?

If I time it right I can find one on Expedia or Priceline.
UK Spouse Visa (Priority)

FLR(M) Standard
Approved: 16 June 2021

ILR (SET M) Super Priority

If you have a smart phone and are looking to go during a specific date range, the app Hopper tells you when to book.  Takes all the guessing out of it.

Otherwise, I usually set up a price alert with Skyscanner and also like Kayak.

Ultimately  I'm to end up in Amarillo (Thanksgiving 2019),  but it seems so dear to fly there...im trying to research whether it would be lots cheaper to fly somewhere else, pick up a hire car and drive to Amarillo.  Flexible about where I fly from... GLA, EDI, MAN...preferably not London, but it's not out of the question.  So many variables make it hard to shop... I was wondering if you guys knew of a good site that makes it easy to chop & change and has good prices.

I just use Google. Then I set an alert.

If you are flexible about what airport you can fly into, go with Google Matrix.

It may end up being cheaper to segment your flights.

We use a mix of google flights and skyscanner...but also have Scott's Cheap Flights Club (there are a few different; flight clubs so I might've confused scott's with another one as there's a US one and a UK one) and that notifies you of cheap flights because of errors or sales, however that can be riskier (like if it's a error they may take the flight away from you or charge you more) and you have to be ready to go at any time (so wouldn't work if you wanted to go at a specific date). But the fares can be REALLLLLLY good.
My, how time flies....

Scott's can be used from any country, you just have to set it up.  But was originally US based. Jack's is UK based.

Well, your nearest airports to Amarillo would be Lubbock International Airport ("Preston Smith" - about an hour and a half south of Amarillo), Oklahoma City (Will Rogers - about 4 hours east of Amarillo), or Albuquerque (about 4 hours west of Amarillo).

Dallas-Ft Worth is the home base of American Airlines, so it might be cheaper to fly into there, but you'd have a lengthy (and somewhat boring six hours') drive to Amarillo from there.  If you have more time than money, DFW might be the way to go. No matter how you look at it, it's going to be at least a few hours on very flat and numbingly unscenic roads if you don't fly direct to Amarillo.  ::)

Last time I went, I did fly into DFW and then stayed overnight with a friend in Rowlett,  and drove to Amarillo the following day.  Might do that again, but just wanting to see what my options might be.

Good luck!  Living out there was kind of like being on the backside of nowhere. I remember when to fly from Midland-Odessa to Lubbock required you take a flight to Dallas Love Field and then wait 4 hours for the daily flight to Lubbock!  It only takes two hours to drive between the two!  ::)

A thought. If you're not taking much in the way of luggage, you might be able to take one of the big carriers to like Orlando or one of the other vacation destinations, and then hop a Southwest Airlines flight, which might be cheaper? They were advertising a big sale (SWA) just recently, with $49 each way fares, that kind of thing.
