Was wondering...
« on: November 28, 2018, 09:38:11 AM »
I might be being thick here, but how many times do I have to apply for FLR. I was here 2.5 years on the original visa, and just applied for FLR for 2.5 years... does that mean my next step will be ILR?

Exactly.  You'll need to do the Life in the UK test before applying for ILR.  We always recommend knocking that out earlier rather than later.   :D

Will my daughter also have to take the Life in the UK test? She is the dependent on my application. She will be over 18 when we are ready to apply for ILR, but was under 16 when we got our original visas.

If she's 18 or older at the time you apply, she will need to take it.

She'll need it for citizenship too.

Thanks! I just want to make sure I'm thinking ahead. We cut it really close with saving for everything and getting everything together this time around. Do you have to pay for IHS with ILR as well?

NO! That's the good news!

Not at the moment, but these things change all the time.  Just save as much as you can in the next 2.5 years as ILR is a lot more expensive than FLR(M) and is likely to just go up.   :-\\\\
