Oh, I enjoyed that whole list.  Is any of that actually weird?

And anything worse than when a teacher said "Pop Quiz"?  SO.  MANY.  GROANS.

I'm looking forward to Larabee and ksands perspective on these.

The fact that people in the UK think the red cups are so funny is really funny to me. People have actually asked me about them before. I had no idea they were such a cultural benchmark.

My new house has a utility room. It's basically a glorified closet but it holds the washing machine and tumble dryer and I am in love with it. I hated having the washing machine in the kitchen.

Ummm... how do Brits say it?  I can't say they've come up in conversation for me, so I don't know what I'm missing.

Red Solo cups are the mark of a good party!  Or so I'm told.  I was a studious student.  *assure*

Dying laughing.

This is hilarious. I mean, I did think doing laundry in the kitchen is outrageous. Makes sense in older houses due to the water pipes and drainage. Anyway, newer houses in the UK have a dedicated laundry room so not sure why the British twitterverse is asking that!

Also, the clapping in theaters! I remember I watched star wars episode 7 both here and in the US. Over here when the star wars name came up... Dead silence. In the US, people started hollering and clapping and then immediately shut up. It's like we can't contain our excitement! How dare us show any emotions. Gotta love the Brits!

We have a laundry room.  Quite a big one.  And our house is over 100 years old.

That is quite uncommon though! Go to any English house, the washing machine will most likely be in the kitchen. Especially the ones built after WWII.

Hee heee.

I took the 4 year old to the cinema last weekend to watch The Nutcracker live stream from the Royal Opera House.  We clapped at all the appropriate places.  We were the only ones.  She didn't care - it was her favorite part (well, excluding the ice cream).

Amazing. I love the Nutcracker. It's so cool that you can go to a movie theater and watch a crisp, high definition stream! The future! Aww 4 years old. She must be adorable

Do UK schools not have a giant room with tables for lunch?  I always thought they did.

For the first couple of years we were here, I wouldn't let Mrs Jimbo buy a kettle cause the microwave worked perfectly well to heat water.  Some British friends found out and freaked out like I was beating her.  Now we have a kettle

I *so* wanted to reply to a couple of those, but it looks like you can only do it via Twitter, and I don't do Twitter.  :-\\\\

Like the idiots that asked 'is it true Americans dip their pizza in ranch'?  Ermmm... what's the difference between that and dipping in the garlic and herb dip they sell WITH your pizza at Dominos, dipshit?  ::) ::)

I have no idea what the red cup thing is all about.
