New Year resolutions
« on: January 01, 2019, 06:20:53 PM »
Hi everyone... happy 2019!

Does anyone still do new year's resolutions?
If you do, would you care to share yours?

I'll feel a complete idiot if no one else joins in, but here are mine:

1. Hit my weight loss goal by October at the very latest... hopefully sooner!
2.  Go out socially at least 2 x per week.  (My weight and the ensuing emotional issues have really damaged my social life and my relationship with my partner over the last 2 years, so I've got to repair this)
3.  DRINK MORE WATER!!  I only drink about 1/3 of the recommended amount, so need to fix this for my health and to help achieve my weight loss goal.
4.  Stop swearing.  I'm terrible for this, and it's really not an attractive trait.

I accomplished last years - to go to the Italian Deli right by my house.  Done!  Been multiple times now.

I always have the same two standard:
1.  To weigh less next New Years
2.  To have more money in the bank

Ticks on both of those this past year and those goals will continue.

As I start my countdown to my 40th (a year and 9 months away), I’m going to get creative.

But this years focus will be on quality time with my husband and kids.  Trying to unplug a bit more (we started having a bottle of Prosecco on Saturday nights an no phones).  Want to keep that going and have one on one time with each kid, plus family time.

My former dance partner died last month after only a 6 month battle with aggresssive cancer.  It’s put a lot into perspective for me.  I felt like she would have been really proud of us splurging the money to go see pandas at Christmas (my daughter is panda obsessed).

And I’m doing a dry January.   ::)

How’s the weight loss going Albatross?

It's going great!  Lost 4 stone since starting my pre-op diet in September.  Long way to go still, but I feel like the op was definitely the right move for me!  :)

Sorry to hear about the death of your friend. x

I want to do some hill walking this year so I need to get into shape.

My body continues to not cooperate. So first resolution, is to figure out what is wrong with me. Fix that then start training for hill walking.

Holy cow!  Amazing Albatross!  Most of all, I’m glad it’s helping you out on the social scene.  :)

Fingers crossed for this... I can't imagine how horrible/difficult/frustrating it is. xx

It IS you.  Surgery is NOT an easy option!

Oh, and you drink more if you have a straw.  I am a heavy drinker.  At least 4 litres a day.  My kids take after me.  My husband just recently got a water bottle and is doing sooooo much better with water intake.  I’m telling you, it’s in the straw!

Metal?!  :o
Didn't know there was such a thing!
I'll leave it for the mo, as it sounds like something i'd have to wash, and im far too lazy. But thanks!!  :)

(I've been known to chuck out frying pans and roasting trays, rather than wash them.)  :-[

Ugh, one of our resolutions in 2018 was to reduce food waste and costs.

We did an excellent job of reducing food waste but we spent almost £2,700 more on food in 2018 than 2017.  UGH.  WHY SO MUCH?!??!??  What are we eating?!?!?

Do you scan your grocery receipts? Could analyse them to see what the most expensive things are ;) But allergy kids are expensive, and I'm sure needing special milk and formula probably didn't help your food costs!
