Working on FLR(M) application question

I'm working on my application now & stuck on this question.  How do I answer it?

Extending or switching to a partner route.
Is this the first time you have applied for a partner route, or an extension, with your current partner (including as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner)?  Yes/No

As I'm filling out for my second 2.5 years in the UK on my spouse visa, I presume I answer Yes?  I'm presuming by "extension" they're meaning I want to continue living in the UK.

If I say Yes do I choose:

First extension as a partner (following an initial period of entry as a partner, or as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner of a settled person) ----This is a correct statement if they mean I will have done my first 2.5 yrs as a spouse.

OR

First application as a partner from within the UK (for example, you are currently in the UK on another type of visa or permission to stay) ---This is  kind of also a correct statement as I am doing it from within the UK although not on another type of visa.  But doesn't being approved for the first 2.5 yrs mean I have permission to stay?

You answer No... because this is your second time applying for a settlement visa on the partner route.

The first time was your spousal visa and you are now applying for an extension to your spousal visa, in the form of an FLR(M) extension visa.

OR

First extension as a partner (following an initial period of entry as a partner, or as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner of a settled person)

The second one would only apply if you were currently living in the UK on a different type of visa, such as a work visa or a student visa, and you had recently married in the UK and were now switching to a spousal visa from inside the UK.
