Last update - Chased on Thursday of last week on the refund after hearing NOTHING over the "20 working days" period and husband confirmed this morning that he's seen the refund come through (probably only because I chased and was persistent). Not even a response back from UKVI to apologise (not that I was expecting one). Oh well, it's all done now with my naturalisation  application pending. Fingers crossed this process goes smoother even if it takes longer.

Congrats on the refund — finally! 🎉  Excited for you to get your citizenship and be done with all this forever!!

Thanks! :D Yeah I'm ready to be over all this forever and have the option of moving wherever our lives take us without needing to go through this pain again (as that would be 100% what would put me off taking a job anywhere else in the world!)

Hoping it goes quicker for the citizenship than the full time as I want to try to time it for when my sister is here with her family so my mom and other sister can fly out for the ceremony (and so I can have my second passport before I go back to Japan).
My, how time flies....

hahah if only! I requested a refund for my appointment fee as I only booked a weekend because there were no free appointments that weren't a month out (that would negate the reason for paying for priority in the first place) but they told me it was my choice to pay for the appointment. Fair enough but I think it's a bit ridiculous. Why would I pay £610 for 24 hour processing only to wait a month or more to be able to get a free appointment where I also would have to take off work? I also asked for a re-review of how they operated to provide better service. They didn't even bother responding to that point in my email (but I didn't expect much).

Did I overlook where you listed the land registry document to show home ownership?

Weird side question as I'm trying to not start a whole new thread to ask one question - if my husband and I are renting we don't need land registry, correct? Just all the landlord info?

If you are renting, you need the tenancy agreement in both names. If only one of your names is on the lease then you also need a letter from the landlord granting the other permission to live in the property.

hah thanks! Much less stressed now :) I'm actually glad it happened and I documented it all for the sheer fact that it might make others feel slightly less worried if they don't get the IMMEDIATE approval others get.

This thread has been helpful to read as I’m preparing to submit my ILR, al thanks for posting so much about the process.

I am confused about the new process though and it seems like most people are doing the new ‘super priority’ service. With the standard by post method, do I still need to make an appointment at one of the new centres for biometrics, or can you still do this at the post office like before?  ??? I can’t seem to find any information about this on the official visas and immigration pages. Thanks!
