Bank Statements Question
« on: January 20, 2019, 03:45:58 PM »
Hi there, my wife and I are in the process of applying for FLR(M). I just had a question regarding bank statements. I use HSBC, and I am the sponsor. We have six months statements, but I just noticed that all the statements (eg. 9 July - 8 August 2018) say "duplicate" on them,  as I ordered them all to be sent to me in the post like we used them in the Fiance visa. As you may know, HSBC refuse to stamp bank statements, this was not an issue for getting the last visa approved. However the most recent statement does not say "duplicate", it must be an original that they send to me in the post anyway. The dates line up- the last "duplicate" ends on 18 December 2018 and the one that does not say "duplicate" starts on 19 December 2018. Is this going to be OK, or should I order a fresh batch of statements?

Many thanks :)

As long as they were all sent to you in the mail by the bank, they are considered original and you don’t need to do anything.

If there was also a letter with them when they were sent (I.e. acknowledging that you requested them), you could include that as well.

Hooray for this forum, I was just going to ask a very similar question in my thread but then spotted this.

I too use HSBC and for some reason I had a couple of blank months where they stopped sending me paper statements and had to go online and re-select that option. I also then ordered the missing statements which as you mentioned say 'Duplicate' on them. They do otherwise look the same but it's good to know it's not an issue. Phew!  ;)
