We are all with you KFDANCER.  I mean spiritually, not physically.  If I was actually there, I'd be supporting you guys by driving to Bojangles and making sure you have plenty of chicken and biscuits!

Biggest hugs. Poor wee man.  I hope the antibiotics kick in and he's starting to feel better soon.

the UK doesn’t vaccine under 2’s

It's under age 6 months old that  the UK won't give a flu jab to. It's, not under age 2, for the child nasel flu jab.  As soon as your son reaches 6 months, you will be able to buy a flu jab for him too.

I hope he is getting better. Don't beat yourself up, you can't protect them all the time.

Show me somewhere outside London that will offer the jab to an under 2.  Trust me.  And it’s 100% not done on the NHS.  Only if a cancer patient type of situation.

He seems much better today.  He’s eating!  He hasn’t eaten since last Wednesday.  Not to mention drinking and awake.  We are seeing glimpses of life and know he is going to be okay.  We had a very scary couple of days there.

He’s eating cake!  What a choice!

I can back you up there KFD. I work in pharmacy. The flu shot is not available for under 2's here in retail pharmacy. We referred back to the GP and most of them were doing them unless they were immune compromised. Additionally, we ran out of shots pretty quickly for the senior population.

So glad to read he is eating and on the mend.

Only certain groups get a flu jab for free and it's always been this way.

Every winter the papers always have which pharmacy has the cheapest flu jab and they will state which groups can have this for free.. I usually follow their guide: this winter it seemed to be Superdrug for £6.99 if you had their points card, followed by Asda for £7 and then Tesco. I've no idea of availabilty outside London, but the Superdrug site this year is saying to "check availabilty with your local pharmancy" for children over 6 months.

And surely availability for those without heart condition is likely slim to none as per nhs guidance...? Like terms and conditions where you’re told to “ask your doctor today if...” but upon closer view they’d be hesitant.
