Out of curiosity, are there any good Tex-Mex or BBQ restaurants in Manchester - just in case? LOL

You don't move to the UK for American food... Or most other cuisines. There are some really good restaurants depending on where you happen to be, but in general eating out is expensive and you have to look for the gems and budget for them.

It’s a hell of a lot closer than anything else I’ve experienced in my years here.

The Banditos Burrito place in Stirling turned around and now has amazing food. I take credit for that.

Manchester you might be out of luck. If you can get to London, however, there's a place called Texas Joe's that (admittedly I haven't been to) has been getting great reviews.

Also, I take issue with the folks saying "you don't come to England for anyone else's food" - Indian food is spectacular in England and in London you can get top quality food from wherever. The only thing I've not been able to find a good facsimile of is Mexican food, but I'm a Texas/California native and therefore spoiled.

I'm eating in a Malaysian restaurant right now, kind of a greatest hits of all Asian food. Gyoza for starters and then peking duck
