I haven't, yet, but I bought a packet of Herta hot dogs because I plan to source some corn meal in the next few days so we can try our hand at making corn dogs at the weekend.  I will try one of the Herta ones just in a bun and compare it to the Bunlimited "spicy!" Mexican hot dogs.

Apparently, Herta make regular and bigger ones.  I did not know that, so bought the first thing I saw, which were the thin ones.  My husband said he likes the fatter ones better.  (Way back in the day, Ocado had Oscar Mayer hot dogs available, and they were the real deal... this week when talking about hot dogs, my husbanddidn't realize I'd bought American ones and thought I had tried Herta back then, so that makes Herta sound promising.)

Ha! I buy both kinds because I like the skinny ones and Mr L prefers the fat ones!  :)

I think the skinny ones are probably the right size for corn dogs, anyway.  I'm not sorry about not knowing what size to get.  :)

Ambient... which added significantly to the fear factor.

I saw some weird non refrigerated hot dogs in Costco. I didn't buy them because of the carb count was too high on them.

What’s the ambient section?

I can stomach the chicken frankfurters the little one loves.. but I do miss a good hotdog

Potassium nitrate keeps the pipes clean.
