Scotland, in the unlikely event of it not being cloudy, or there being a break in the clouds this weekend on the 23rd:

Storm levels could reach category G2, which is moderately strong. During G2-class storms, auroras may be seen in northern-tier US states as far south as New York and Idaho.

Wow that's so cool! I doubt I'll see anything way down here though. If you see the aurora, take pics and share

I belong to a Scotland Aurora research Facebook group. There are always amazing views here. Last month,  auroras very visible throughout most of Scotland, in record numbers. I had to work early that week so didn't get out to Loch Lomond.

For those of us less northerly folk, be aware that when there is extreme activity, and it's described as potentially visisble "as far south as Idaho or New York", Idaho's northern border with Canada is the 49th parallel.  The whole of Great Britain is north of the 49th parallel.  If Idaho could view it, we could view it (if our part of the earth is pointed away from the sun and weather conditions are clear enough, that is!).

Well, the aurora was a no show but had a brilliant day anyway.

Hiked on The West Highland Way. Me in my hiking boots, parka, gloves and my walking pole... my Scottish numpty in his shorts and crocs.
