Let's not get ahead of ourselves here   ;)  ... I don't really know if I'm 'back' or not, but don't want to hijack the House DIY thread with the reasons why!  :-X

Pretty much finished the kitchen today! Not really moved much in and there are still a few cosmetic tweaks (very light and mostly internal) but it’s not full functioning! No more work to do on weekends!

Full lighting...

And now.....

Sexy mood lighting!

I’ll try to find a picture from before we even moved in as I have the original listing for it somewhere. But some of my favourite features are...

The corner cupboard where the shelves move forward as you open the door. Slightly more efficient than a lazy Susan.

This door next to the sink and the one right above open upwards to increase the space (easier to open up when it’s situated against a wall)

And we can fit a fairly decent size table in the centre (bigger table than I even thought we could fit - also, ignore the crap table, it’s just a temporary measure).

Only moved small tv and table/chairs in. Will tackle the rest (including the coffee nook) tomorrow.

Ooooh, I like that corner cabinet with the slidey-outty shelves!

If you can fit a table in there, you could have ... an island!

I took a video of it sliding out but didn't post it because Rik was hoovering in the background so there's obviously an annoying humming noise that's quite loud so I thought I'd just post the picture.

We thought about either an island or a breakfast bar in general, but we decided against it as we wanted to make it the least offensive layout to the most amount of people. I didn't want anybody to see the island and think of it as if it were more of a burden. Tried to avoid putting anything that couldn't be easily removed from the centre of the room just in case people want more or less space. But I like your thought process. I'm a big "Island" fan haha

An island would be epic, but your reasoning for not having one is sound.  The new owners can put in whatever they want, or nothing at all.  It's their space soon.  :)

Take another video!  I want to see the cabinet shelves sliding out!

The new house has an Island so I can make due a few months without one for sure! haha

We have the corner slide out shelf thing in our rental.  Fabulous use of space.  I loved it when I lived there!  And it always makes tenants happy when they see it.   ;D

Looks amazing.  I'm so torn as to what color I'd add to it for accents/appliances.  I initially thought red but then I think lime green would be AMAZING!

The corner shelf, I don't think we fully realised until it got delivered and we started assembling (by "we" I definitely mean "Rik" LOL). I knew it wasn't a lazy susan or anything, but couldn't picture how it would work until the cupboard was built and once we realised we were like AWEEESSOMMEE hah Seems like a really good use of space for sure and it just looks nice and sleek.

Part of me would go boring with black/charcoal (I have a matte-black kitchenaid so wouldn't want to have  that miss-matched) but then also, I'd want a pop of bright colours. Red is a nice choice (my SIL did red in her kitchen) but It's not bold enough for me. The lime green. YES. I could get behind that completely. Or something like tangerine orange or something haha I know that sounds not the nicest, but the room itself is just literally white/black (including walls being white), but it's so nice and lovely and bright that it totally needs that bright pop of colour too.

Seriously though, I'd love to be able to just design rooms for a living and/or flip houses. Always been a dream. Instead, I settle for just designing new house projects for us haha

haha haven't even pulled the coverings off the doors ye! I'm definitely not ready for that step yet

Thanks. She's just being a derp who was feeling extra needy at the time and wouldn't move out of the room for the photo so, hence, bonus dog shot lol

Oooo, orange would look AMAZING!!

Would need to be something like this   or this ....but I actually like the style of this one with the "studded"-type pattern on it LOL . It comes in lime green and a nice bright blue as well! :p
