Misspelled name on vignette
« on: April 17, 2019, 12:10:25 AM »
My husbands last name is spelled wrong on vignette (same as mine). Who do I call? The email I found on the uk.gov site bounced back.
Should I call the UK consulate in New York?
This can’t just be easy for me.....

Ps- my travel dates are between June 19- July 19. I put June 26 as my hopeful date of travel.

To confirm, is he the UK citizen or are you?

It’s more important for the visa holder’s name to be spelled correctly than for the UK sponsor’s to be... as the name on the US citizen’s visa must match the name on their passport exactly.

So, if you are the US citizen and your name is spelled properly, that’s what’s most important.

If that’s the case then you’ll likely be fine to travel to the UK with the vignette as it is, and then if it turns out his name is also spelled incorrectly on your BRP, then you can get it corrected from inside the UK.
