Thanks everyone.  She's not doing well this morning.  I just hate seeing her suffer and not being able to do anything.  I imagine she will pass sometime today. If she's alive when I get home from work, I will be surprised.
It's just a chicken, but I can't stand not being able to make her in less pain.  Poor wee girl. At least the other one who passed away recently just keeled over.  I can take sudden chicken death and I can take abattoir deaths for food, but watching them in pain is not nice.  :\\\'(

Thank you. I petted her softly and told her she was a good girl this morning.  All I can do  :\\\'(

I'm so sorry about your girl PB! I at least hope she will be out of pain sooner rather than later even though it'll be hard for you.

Thanks all. She was still alive last night when I came home from, work amazingly. But she was gone this morning. At least she's not in pain anymore.   :\\\'(
I have a few more chooks and I'm thinking now of getting a few more.  Goodness, if I get this emotional every time one goes, I am going to clog up this thread forever.

RIP little hen.

We wouldn't be the people we are without our love of and emotions over our animals.

I'm sorry PB. Glad she isn't suffering, but it's still hard to see them sick and pass away. I would be more concerned if you didn't care!

Oh PB.  I'm so sorry but I'm so glad she is out of pain now.  How do the other ladies seem?

They've been okay (healthwise). I think they're been a bit down though. They knew we kept their friend in the greenhouse, so they always were looking over with keen interest when we went in there.
