Getting my girls into school ?!?!?!?!?!
« on: April 28, 2019, 01:23:11 PM »
I’m trying to wrap my head around the schools in the UK. I just emailed the head teachers about how to enroll them, but it’s crazy that there might not be a place for them. Pray that there are places.
I’ve been all over the Council site to find out how to enroll them.
I’m just frustrated with this bit.

They allocated schools placements a few weeks ago for all the 4 hear olds. And it's really interesting how it works.

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

There will be places, they may just not be at your preferred school or nearby.

read up on how the Local Authority works. It's not that complicated. You may not get the school of your choice, but you will get a school. as it's the law that children attend until they finish year 11. It might be worth just popping into a school and asking for information about how it all works. you might find staff are helpful. otherwise try CAB.

Always a bit scary, the complete unknown!!  It may make you tear your hair out, but the council will have to help you get your kids into school.   :)

Have you had luck from head teachers and/or your local council?

If I read your profile right, you're going to Oxfordshire?

I think this might be a good place to start and links to application forms, etc?

Good luck!
