CPC entry instead of ToR - What's the process?
« on: May 01, 2019, 04:06:09 AM »
Hi all, I'm a bit confused reading about the ToR process and came across these Customs Procedure Codes (CPC) "as I am planning my move to the UK.  I am coming over on the Fiance Visa, with a wedding date of 11th July.

On the ToR form, it says "If you’re importing goods on the occasion of your marriage you don’t need to complete this form. You should make an import entry using one of the following CPCs" and goes on to list some codes.
Specifically, there's
40 00 C02 - Simultaneous release for free circulation and home use of trousseaux and household effects imported on the occasion of a
marriage;
40 00 C60 - Simultaneous release for free circulation and home use of trousseaux and household effects imported on the occasion of a
marriage entered for free circulation in the first two months before the wedding (duty relief subject to the lodging of appropriate security);

Is there some form I'm supposed to put one of these CPC numbers?  If a shipping company asks for a ToR, do I tell them about the CPC instead?  I'm a bit confused on the mechanics.

Use the ToR...  unless your family is paying a dowry?   ;)
