Who's voted today? Or will vote today?

Did my voting bit.  Find it always funny to vote in my tiny primary school ,two old biddies collecting names. No IDs checked.  X marks the spot.

I've never gotten food on my underpants!
Work permit (2007) to British Citizen (2014)
You're stuck with me!

I'm not so sure it'll be our last.  It's all a bit of a quagmire at the moment, but I see it going either way, still.

Voted in my first (and possibly last) EU election.

Will it possibly be your last if you have Irish citizenship?  Surely as mainland Ireland will still be in the EU so you should still get a right to vote in the European Elections?

I was under the impression I could only vote for the representative of the country in which I was living....?

So, for the UK's MEP, not an Irish MEP. Unless we go to Ireland (which isn't out of the question) or maybe France or Portugal, if things don't improve.

Oh I just assumed (wrongly) that you'd be able to vote representing Ireland even if you didn't live there like with other normal elections. Ignore me :)

Actually, I think I can, if I register with the Electoral Roll in Ireland. But as I don't live there, it doesn't seem right.

It says you have to living in the Republic of Ireland on here-

"At present, if you are an Irish citizen living outside the State you cannot be entered on the Register of Electors. This means that you cannot vote in an election or referendum here in Ireland."

Or not.

If I was a permanent resident and just abroad, I can. But that's not the case.

Yup.  Some of the other EU countries are still voting.  The last countries' polls close Sunday night, and then the media can speculate and all of the votes can be counted and results announced.

This is how the US primaries should be handled.  Telling the rest of the US how Iowa caucases went colours the rest of the primary.  It gives Iowa's pick a lead, and people like to vote for a winner.  Meanwhile, people living in Iowa have much different interests to people living in California.  So why do Iowa gwt to give that momentum to a candidate that might not probably won't suit California?
