Newbie - to forums and the visa process!
« on: June 10, 2019, 04:05:20 AM »
Hey!

I’m a British citizen, recently returned from the US to hopefully get my husband here soon with me and our daughter. I’m new to forums and so far finding it daunting... it took me a while to just find this post!!! On that note, I’m happy to be here to learn as I go and be able to find out some very useful and valuable information to help the process feel a little less painful.

My husband and myself have been married 5 years this month, we met in Belgium 7 years ago and are excited to hopefully move our family to England without a hiccup.

Welcome to the group :)

I would strongly encourage you to try to encourage your partner to join this forum as well. I personally think it's really good to have both people involved to join and learn about the process so you can better support each other through the stressful times. Also, it will be good for him (if he's never lived in England) to have a community to turn to if he faces any bumps with the cultural differences.
My, how time flies....

* Married in the US and applied for first spousal visa August 2013
* Moved to the UK on said visa October 2013
* FLR(M) applied for  May 2016. Biometrics requested June 2016. Approval given July 2016.
* ILR applied for January 2019 (using priority processing). Approved February 2019.
* Citizenship applied for May  2019
* Citizenship approved on July 4th 2019
* Ceremony conducted on August 28th 2019

'Mommy, Wow! I'm a legit Brit now!'
