PANIC #2

My payslip for Feb 2019 is dated 28/2/19 although I actually got paid on 21/2/19 which my bank statement confirms.

Is this an issue??

At the top of the payslip it says:

Date                  Employee No.     Name                          Week/Month No.
28 02 2019      XXXXXXX             MR BD HAYWARD         11

Do you think it's not an issue and that the Week/Month No. covers it?

It’s my genuine payslip though? What am I supposed to do? I do recall a printing issue arose one month

I would have thought that an official letter from payroll addressing the discrepancy would suffice. Keep that advice with a pinch of salt and wait for someone who *knows* to say something, though!

Just needs to be addressed in the employer letter.

As long as there is an explanation given for the date on the payslip being different to the date of deposit into the bank account, there'll be no issue.

Thanks guys.

So I immediately reached out to our group HR lady, who works at a different site in Glasgow, as I came into work today and here is her explanation:

"It was an error on the system which automatically entered the wrong date and went unnoticed until after the payroll had been finalized, ran and paid.  Is there anything I can do to help, by way of a letter on headed paper perhaps?"

Can she send a letter and will it suffice? She is 'Group HR Administrator'. Without meaning to be disrespectful but is that position 'high' enough to warrant the letter? Furthermore, what exactly should it say? Or, I can get my GM to sign the modified employee letter?

Is this sufficient?

"To UK Visas and Immigration,

I am writing this letter at the request of Ben Hayward to provide employment information needed for his wife’s visa extension.

Ben is a permanent employee at XXXXXXXX as a Manufacturing Engineer. He has held this position since 7th November 2016, which means he has been employed for two years and seven months up to the date of this letter.

Ben’s starting gross salary was £XX,XXX per annum. Since then he has had two salary raises. The breakdown of these raises are as listed below:

•   £XX,XXX per annum held for 1 year 1 month from November 2016 to December 2017.
•   £XX,XXX per annum held for 1 year 0 months from January 2018 to December 2018.
•   £XX,XXX per annum held for 6 months (to the date of this letter) from January 2019.

The payslips which will be provided to prove this are authentic and are originals. Ben is paid from XXXXX Ltd of which XXXXXXX is a subsidiary company of.

Regarding February’s payslip, there is a discrepancy related to the stated pay date and the actual pay date. Due to an error in the payroll system the wrong date was automatically entered and went unnoticed until after the payroll had been finalised, ran and paid. Unfortunately, it was not possible to modify the payslips to show the correct day of payment. Therefore, I can confirm Ben was paid £XXXX.XX on 21st February 2019.

Also, I can confirm that the statements above are true and accurate and I hope that they meet your information requirements.

If you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Joe Bloggs
General Manager"

And there is definitely nothing more I need to add?

On a side note Tori, what do they actually check when doing document checks?

As per their website (https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/additional-services), document checks are just them checking beforehand that "you have correctly uploaded your documents and that they meet required quality standards.".  I assumed that what you had paid for was to actually check your documents to make sure you had everything (I had never read the options when I did it because I never intended to use the services so didn't bother), but it turns out that they are literally just making sure the quality of the documents is there...which I'm pretty sure they more or less do for free before they submit your application formally.

@ksand24 are you also happy with the contents of the explanation? I'm double checking as the GM is only on site this morning and i won't be able to obtain a signature after this and before my appointment

Have I missed anything? Also, my P60 under Employer's full name and address it states a company i haven't heard of in some sort of acronym and gives the address of our parent company who officially pays me. Is this okay? It is identified in the employer letter that we are a subsidiary company of our parent company but in the P60 it states the company as 'SCO GBP'. The parent company is in Scotland so could be SCOtland Great British Pound? Obviously that is not the company's name so i hope this is not looked upon for refusal.

Secondly, it asks for reasons to stay in the UK and says lost documents used to support this and I said I’d upload a family picture but I haven’t. Should I?

I’m getting extremely nervous about it all, actually.

1) Work for a different company than who I’m paid from
2) Month with the wrong pay date on payslip
3) Weird company ‘name’ on P60

It’s just adding up to suspicion to the ECO
