Unless they meant for the council tax and housing costs to be asked just of those applying using adequate maintenance but because the form is rubbish, it asks everyone for that information?

I wouldn't be surprised if it just asks everybody for everything and you're somehow just supposed to know which you need and which you don't...but I don't think it's supposed to be that way (unless something else was ticked on the application in error maybe?)

The online form is a mess!
Completely. And what adds to the confusion is they make you categorise your documents and it can be hard to know which category is best for a particular document while other categories won't have any documents and can make a person worry they've forgotten items.

I rent and it asked for council tax and ‘housing costs’ evidence. The housing costs evidence is just a tenancy agreement, it mentioned it earlier in the application.

Yeah but my tenancy agreement has expired so I am providing an additional letter from the landlord saying we have permission to live there just to be sure.

That's what I was saying. It specifically does not ask for birth certificate of our child or any sort of proof that she exists! In the list and throughout the application

I am assuming she is not classed as a dependant child? Or is she?

No.  Your daughter is already a UK citizen from birth. She is a dependent child, but she is not applying for leave to remain as she's a UKC and doesn't need ILR.  It looks as though you have answered the questions correctly, so if they didn't ask for evidence of the child's residence when you responded to those questions (click to edit your responses and you can read what's on the page to make sure), I guess UKVI don't need it.  Still, I would try to have something on hand in case they ask for it.

We put that we had children, even though they are adult and not dependant, as the question does not qualify if the question refers to children over or under 18. We would have been lying if we answered 'no' and then went on to say that the reason we wanted to stay here was to be close to our children! We also provided their birth certificates and passport bio pages although we were not asked for them.

Married 1966, left UK 1969, returned 1998, left again 2000, returned June 2014 (husband on spousal visa) granted FLR(M) November 30th 2016  and ILR on  24th May, 2019. Yeah!

Did you put them as added applicants? Or just tick 'yes' when asked if you had children?

Yeah but my tenancy agreement has expired so I am providing an additional letter from the landlord saying we have permission to live there just to be sure.

Does your tenancy agreement say on it that it will become a rolling tenancy on expiry? If so, you do not need a letter from the landlord.

The majority of people applying will be on a tenancy that has expired and turned into a rolling tenancy, so they will be familiar with the process.
