Thank you very much for all your responses. All of you helped me a lot. I am very thankful for sharing everything about carmax, importing vehicle and everything. That would give me a better vision and ideas of everything.
It was very important to ask you and I am glad that I did. I appreciate it so much.
Words can't thank you enough for all your efforts

No worries! In the end, you have to do what is best for you with the information you have. If you decide importing the car is right for you, that is what you should do. The advice not to is just coming from a place of concern as we want to make sure that you're completely aware of everything before going through with the import because it would be an expensive regret if you changed your mind, but ultimately we aren't you and don't know all the details so can't say for sure which is the right option for you.

Best of luck with whichever you decide :)  Either way, insurance over here is EXPENSIVE as a "new" driver so just be prepared for that in general and the fact that you will be considered a new driver. That was the hardest part for me was getting my head around that.

Not that I'm buying a car in the foreseeable future, but how much is a typical "new driver" policy for a low-end car?

Depends on a several factors to be honest (like will you have another named drive on the police that's held a license for a longer period of time? Will you be willing to put a black box in it to monitor your driving? How high do you want your excess? What's the make/model/year? What type of coverage do you want and do you want any of the extras? Etc). I would say to go on compare the market or somewhere else for quoted and just use a random car that's for sale and see how much it would cost to insure as a first year driver if it will let you without license details. It can be like £1000+ worse case... I've got mine down to the £300-range now

We have 1 new driver and 1 with a provisional license. 2016 Nissan Juke. £500 excess. 1 claim for Stuart's at fault accident.

We pay around £40 a month through The Admiral.

Mine originally started in the £600s (a year) when I first got my provisional with an excess of £500 I believe for my old Honda, but it was even higher before I put Rik as a named driver and I refused a black box. I've know other people to be near the £900-1000 range for their first year which is obscene to me. Every year I get no claims it goes down but it goes up by £100 if I remove Rik.

My first year of coverage, after having my full license about a year but not driving, was £564 through Liverpool Victoria.  I just renewed with them at £448 for the second year.

My car is an older model Fiat Panda eco.  My excess is £300, or £500 if I use a repair shop not recommended by LV.  My husband is named as a driver, and we have three vehicles in the household, so that's probably bringing my rate down quite a bit.
