Tell them about pregnancy or not?
« on: July 08, 2019, 11:23:07 PM »
My wife is a couple of months pregnant, just wondering if it’s wise to tell them in our sponsor letters, for example does it further reinforce our relationship evidence and give them a real reason to believe us and approve the visa? Should we get a printout of a scan or something, I realize we don’t need the increased financial threshold until the next time we apply and the child is actually born.

Thankyou guys!

That goes in "any other information", I think.  If the need arose (it won't!), I don't know if they can do 10-year route for an unborn child, but maybe they can.  10 year route is an option if your application would otherwise be rejected, but there is a British child whose right to family life would be impacted by rejecting the application... if HO know there is a child coming, I don't know if they'd put a rejection on hold until there is a child, and then grant the 10 year route, or if it would just be rejected and you could reapply after the delivery.  But if you don't tell them about the pregnancy, they can't do anything for you.  And, obviously, there won't be a rejection, anyway, so the whole question is moot.  :)

As the child will be a UKC (and USC), there won't be an increased financial requirement.  The threshold only goes up for non-UKC children.  UKCs are entitled to public funds, etc.

It won't help or hinder the application.  But congratulations!
