What about other types of mail?

Do you have any of the following mail you could use:
- water bills
- electricity bills
- phone bills
- credit card bills
- TV licence
- payslips with your address on them
- letters from other government bodies

If payslips are okay, then that should cover my pieces of mail as I've kept them religiously for the last two years I've been here - luckily my company is a bit old fashion and still sends them in the post.
It's just his missing pieces now for Nov 2017, March 2018, July 2018 and Nov 2018 as we were going to use his bank statements.

You can always adjust your months if that helps, but everything still needs to be 4 months apart, so that would rule out the council tax letters.

I.e,
Dec 2017
Apr 2018
Aug 2018
Dec 2018
Apr 2019
Aug 2019

The documents must have been physically mailed to your house on the dates printed on them - they can’t be printed from online banking because you could have been living somewhere else when they were issued.

What they mean by originals vs. copies is that you can make a copy of the original and send that, so you still have the original in your possession in case they ask to see it.

Also, you don’t send any documents anymore, you scan and upload the originals (or pay Sopra Steria to scan them for you).

We recommend that you turn off paperless for EVERYTHING as soon as you arrive in the UK, so that you don’t have the issue of not having enough original mailed documents when you apply for the next visa. So, I would turn off paperless ASAP in preparation for your ILR in 2.5 years.

We've actually found a scanned copy of our previous council tax letter from March 2018, but don't actually have the original copy, which is a bit worrisome.

Will a letter from the bank or stamp on each page help as a workaround to these being printed from online?

The purpose of the correspondence is to prove you and your partner were living (receiving your post) at the same address throughout the span of the previous visa.  Printing PDF versions off the internet does not work.  The items must have been received through the post.

We encourage everybody to turn off paperless and get both names on as many accounts as possible as soon as the US partner arrives.  You'll need these things again for ILR in 2.5 years, so it's not too late to sort it out for the next application.
