I'm sure it could, too, but I'd probably have to give up my husband in exchange.  That's a big ask.  :(

It's allergies with him, isn't it?

Found this. :)  https://www.thesprucepets.com/controlling-cat-allergies-553869

It's allergies for both of us, really, but I came from a cat-loving family, so I had always just lived with it.  I even had cat(s) when I lived 'alone'!  I didn't realize how bad my allergies were until I moved over here and have been healthy ever since.  If anything happens to my husband, I'd probably get a cat again (even if I am allergic), but my husband's allergies, and the risk of him watching me battle a bad chest cold, make me not want to try it.

Love knowing I’m not the only one that has just dealt with the cat allergies. They are working on a vaccine for cats to reduce cat allergies! Partner loves cats and the only thing holding us back at the moment is my reaction to them. I end up with “slight” breathing issues.

I start with 'slight' breathing issues before we bring cats into the mix.  I don't want to put my husband through seeing me worse.  Plus, it's been nice not coughing 'til I'm blue in the face and still not clearing my airway.

I know the pain. I’ve gone into doctors offices for something unrelated and been connected to a nebulizer before I can blink.

I’m still going to cuddle the cat and deal with the consequences later !
