EU settlement status and the right to work in the UK
« on: August 28, 2019, 11:29:44 PM »
So, the Daughter applied for a job with a UK government agency.
She sent a copy of her "Pre-settled" proof of status letter with her CV at application. (This document explicitly states she has the right to work in the UK.)
Today they wrote back thanking her for her CV and the Pre-settled document.
And asked her to provide proof of her right to work in the UK.

Jeeeezus.  ::)

Geez. It’s like some places speak a different language. I’ve listed before that I have a brp with full rights to work in the UK and even have a national insurance number and they still asked for proof lol.

Sometimes you need to explain things in as many words for it to register.

Regurgitate the exact phrase that they are looking for and they can tick that box!

We went online to the EU Settlement web page. Logged into her account. Got the one-time-use download code and web address to send to the potential employer. They can log onto the UKVI website, insert the code, and will be taken to a screen that states her work status.  We also PDF'd the page with all that information and she sent it along to them. Plus a copy of her EU/UK Biometric Card.

Je....umping Jehoshaphat, this place is just inefficiently and incompetently nuts. ::)
