Kingdom of Sweets is a giant rip off
« on: September 01, 2019, 07:42:18 AM »
Example 1, Oreos that are available at any Tesco for £2
. We won't talk about a can of Pringles for £5

Example 2, £35 for Hersheys kisses?  You are having a laugh

I was on Oxford Street yesterday and there must have been 10 of these stores around.

With those prices these stores must surely be a front for something else? Wow.

It was a big bag, but I've seen the equivalent of Resse's cups for a tenner in Costco.

Wait a minute, have we had this exchange before?  I swear you’ve posted that link already, which means I must have already made a post about how expensive those stores are.  I’d search but I’m afraid of the answer

Lol. No. This is a new article I only just saw last week after a Scottish friend visited the store in Edinburgh. It is a new location for them.

Don’t even get me started, I went to the other one on Oxford street and it cost me 20 quid for two bags of twizzlers and some airheads. I had a bag of goldfish on. But when I saw them ring up at ten quid I asked him to Remove it. The worst part is they didn’t sticker price anything, so I thought it would be pricey, but not that bad.

That is what my friend complained about most. No price labels on anything.

It was seriously so annoying because you figure it is marked up some but not that much. Funny enough though I’m starting to want less and less American food. Guess it’s a sign I’ve integrated here

The only things I pay the markup on are pickles, and the garden center isn't too bad for that. I bought some sweet pickle relish last time too, because we've been grilling a lot and it reminded me of home. I wouldn't pay the markups in that sweet shop though!

I feel the same about wanting less American food I don’t really crave it that much anymore it only took me 17 years ha ha. I admit I do have my fair share of it on trips to America I make sure I have all my favourites when I’m there. I guess I have my new favourite English restaurants and meals now. I have turned to wahaca every now and then to satisfy a Mexican craving
