Life insurance

The missus and I are expecting our first soon and the thought of term life insurance came up. We have UK citizenship, but not certain how long we'll stay in the UK or if we'll move back to the US at some point. Anyone know how that'd work if we got, say, a 25 year term life in the UK and moved back to the US? Would we keep it, and just let it pay out in GBP? Cancel it (can you do that?) and get a new one in the US? Any tips are appreciated.

Thanks!

It may be possible to do either, but you’ll need to check the details before signing up. I have held a US policy for 16 years now and when we moved to England 3 years ago I checked that it was still valid while living overseas. The beneficiary has a US bank account so payment should be easy.

Dual USC/UKC living in the UK since May 2016
