Finally got that job
« on: November 02, 2019, 02:02:40 PM »
After a year of searching, ~200 applications and 11 interviews I was finally offered a full time permanent position! I'll be the new Archives Assistant at Oxford University!

We can finally move into a bigger place and settle down here :)

Congratulations!!!

Fantastic news and well done!

I'm sure you'll be learning all this in your new post-if it's based within the library, ARLIS is a fantastic resource-I got to attend some wonderful training at the V and A a few years ago when I was a fashion librarian.

The special collections librarian at my university is super friendly and helpful-if I can be of any help with regards to any other resources for you in the academic librarian world, just give a shout.

Well done!!

Aww, poor Tollie.  Had to settle for a job at The University of Oxford.   ;D

Well done my dear!  You must be THRILLED that those other jobs didn’t work out.  Having little unknown Oxford on your resume is going to make your career progression really tough.   8)

So very proud of you!  Massive high five!

Hahaha yes what a shame!!

I still don't think I believe it. I did this without connections, without a way in. It was just me myself and I. I did this!!! Worth the wait.

Thank you!!! I'll be working in the Special Collections at the library so it seems like we have something in common!
