I think you’re on the right track with having HR document why. For both my initial visa and this FLRm there were a few funky things (like initial visa had payroll and payslips thru a contracted payroll company so it was different than the employer) and we had them write up why — this time the payslips changed their formatting and we had them note why for that as well. I figure if we spell it out for them, it’s best. TLDR - I agree with you! ;)
Application: April 5 2017
Biometrics: April 13 2017
Received: April 19 2017
Decision email: June 6 2017
Decision: June 8 2017 -- APPROVED! 😊
Arrived in UK: June 24, 2017

FLR(m): Applied standard - 20 Dec 2019
Biometrics done - 13 January 2020
Approved for FLR(m)!  Feb 2020

ILR Applied Super Priority - 12 July 2022
Biometrics (got a cancellation!) -13 July 2022
APPROVED! - 13 July 2022

Next up - Naturalisation application!

Back with more questions!

Does the company name of who paid in the money on your bank statement (the employer) need to match the company name on the payslips?

It gets trickier still: The payroll manager has sent a letter on COMPANY X letterhead saying, here are your certified payslips, and she's signed and dated each one, January 2020 through July 2019. I don't work for COMPANY X, but they do our payroll.

My HR director has done the employer letter on COMPANY Z letterhead. We used to be COMPANY Y but rebranded last summer. My payslips all say COMPANY Z. My bank statements all show the wages coming in from COMPANY Y, except for September, which says COMPANY Z (the new name). This is odd, but moving on.

So I am going to ask for another letter from the payroll manager to explain:
-why the wages are paid in before the date on the pay slip
-why the name on my bank statement is different for only one of the months (September)
-why the company name on the bank statement doesn't match the payslip name for July, August, October, November, December and January
-why her payroll letter is on a company letter head (COMPANY X) that is not my employer, COMPANY Z

I can't imagine I'm being overly cautious, but I thought I'd check. Thanks!

I agree with Jessmed.  I would explain it all as you are planning to do.

If in doubt, explain it.  :)

Cool, thanks. This sounds so similar. It's funny--we're using my income because my husband changed jobs in January, and I was thinking my income would be less work than his. But l'm not sure it's proving to be that way now!

I'm following this with interest. I'm the sponsor but there are anomalies with my payslip (date on pay slip and date of deposit not always matching) so I'm speaking with my employer about the employer reference letter. This will be key to whether we use my salary or my wife's!

I saw that on your thread! It seems quite common among employers. We've always had this with our company.

I saw on another thread the amount for going the savings route is reduced for ILR, which would mean that would be an option for us. I'm quite intrigued after this mess with pay slips!

Using savings is much easier! For the spouse visa and FLR(M) applications the amount is £62,500 but for ILR the savings no longer have to cover the 2.5 year length of a visa so the calculation is - £18,600 + £16,000 = £34,600.

You still need to have held it in an instantly accessible account for a minimum of 6 full months before the date of the application and show bank statements to prove that. So make sure that you have paper statements coming  for that timeframe or that your bank will stamp online statements for you instead, they don't all stamp.

Cool--thanks for seeing this and adding the specific info. We have instant access but it's an online account so I'm going to make a note in my calendar a year from now to move it over to a UK account with printed statements.

Just got the consent form number 2 back from my inlaws--they are listed on our lease as guarantors. This got me thinking. The landlords' names are listed on the lease. Do they need to sign consent forms?

I think it looks great except your gap between October 18 and March 19 is 5 months so that’s is too long.

Maybe redo to have Feb bill if you have it (it stinks the council tax was two different months!), a June and Oct bank statement - you already had 3 sources at the June 18

Cheers--appreciate the feedback.

Unfortunately I have zero docs in my name for February 2019. I'm hoping because the October bank statement technically covers the 15 Oct to 15-November so it's not a full five-month gap!

How much is the premium service, and is it worth doing?
Hi Shabbir, We paid premium the first time round and waited four months, didn't pay it this time and just received the letter today, granting the next 30 months, only 18 days after biometrics appointment. Thank you everyone for the detailed questions and answers on here. It answered every question we had and those we didn't know we had too. :)

I had a similar situation. It was all perfect except the way the dates fell on my monthly bank statements It skipped a month I needed (like it was something like 30 of September and then 1 of November and of course I needed October 😒) I just noted it on my cover letter and got on with life. You should be great I’d think 👍 Good luck!
