naturalisation: here we go!
« on: November 24, 2019, 07:40:38 PM »
My god, has it been a stressful and long road.

I put in my citizenship application a few weeks ago, and have my appointment at Croydon on Thursday (on thanksgiving! going straight from Croydon to a thanksgiving feast...). I've paid for the scanning service again after being very pleased with it for my ILR.

Would appreciate confirmation that this is what I need to bring:
-LIUK pass certificate
-Marriage certificate
-2 referees (one civil servant, one other British person over 25)
-BRP
-my partner's passport
-my current passport
-my expired passport showing when I first entered the UK

I think from others that's all, but it's SO much less stuff than ILR it's making me paranoid!

thanks for all the help over the years, fam. it's been very much appreciated <3

Wahooo!  Have you booked your ceremony?

unfortunately my council does not yet have *their* notification from the home office yet! so I can't book.

curiously, I received my letter 10 days after it was dated; just hoping my council gets their confirmation in the next week before my 21 days to book is up (they've told me not to worry and that this is normal, at least)

on a fun side note, because of where I live, the Lord Mayor of London will be overseeing the ceremony. I promise pictures of the full regalia.
