FLRM Renewal Documents Check (help please!)
« on: December 08, 2019, 12:19:01 PM »
Hi everyone,

Sorry to ask a non-original question but your insight is really needed!

So my visa expires 17th of July 2020 and we are hoping to apply around the 30th of June 2020.
For the sources of correspondence that have to be "equally spaced over the previous 2 years with at least 3 different sources," we are planning on providing below:

August 2018- November 2018:
source: August 7th joint Tesco bank statement

December 2018- March 2019
source: December 5th joint water statement

April 2019- July 2019
source: March 12th joint council tax + April 7th joint Tesco bank statement
*council tax falls in March, so we decided to provide one extra document to cover the April-July period.

August 2019- November 2019
source: August 21st joint Halifax bank statement

December 2019- March 2020
source: December 2nd joint water statement

April 2020- July 2020
source: TBC April joint Tesco bank statement

Is our list of proposed documents and timings (3 month period) okay to submit? Additionally we are providing bank statements from two different banks (e.g. Tesco and Halifax), but does that still count as two different sources, though they are each the same document type?

Thanks everyone for your time!!!

Are we sure its still "over the last two years"? That is definately what it would have been the last time that you applied for FLR. (I'm assuming you had a fiance visa first, then FLR, and this is your last FLR?) But the system keeps changing.
Can someone who has done FLR since its all changed confirm this? I've only been paying attention to the ILR thread, so I know for ILR it went from "two years" to "the date of your late visa". Don't know if its the same for FLR. What do the guidance notes say?

Hi,

Yes just to clarify I did the fiancee visa then FLR and this will be my 2nd and final FLR. Regarding the "two years" of correspondence requirement, I haven't found anything that says otherwise but a confirmation of this would be useful.

Yeah, it's definitely two years – it's specified on the online application form! I've done 2 years from roughly the point of application (so November 2019 going back to November 2017). I included 7 pieces of evidence rather than 6 as it was easier with the spacing and Larrabee in her infinite kindness and wisdom thought that was better than taking one of those months away.

Cool. always good to triple check. And yea, I included extra documents as well because I didn't have a set that spaced exactly 4 months apart. For ILR though, make sure you just get multiple things every month. Its suuuuuch a pain but worth it to avoid the stress. Put both your names on everything.

What happens if you don't really have anything in your name? I still have 1.5 years til I renew my first LTR but my husband and I don't have bills etc in our name - accommodation is provided through our work and all the electricity bills, council tax etc is in the name of the business. We have a joint bank account, car insurance, and that's about it.....

Shelsis -- absolutely. I find myself double, triple, quadruple checking, and still worrying I'm doing something wrong! Thank God for this forum of lovely supportive people -- I can't imagine doing this on my own.

Thanks for all your replies so far!

Can any of you please tell me if Tesco and Halifax bank statements count as different sources? And if the month periods we spaced out are okay (feeling anxious already!)

You should get on that right away, SoonInDevon. You will need original mail, as discussed.

It's a good idea to have something joint (or two individual pieces) coming in every single month, bank statements are ideal for this. That way your spacing will be much easier to achieve, working round items that you receive less frequently.

Here are the examples of acceptable correspondence.

Quote
.• letters or other documents from government departments or agencies, for example HM Revenue and Customs, Department for Work and Pensions, DVLA, TV Licensing
• letters or other documents from your GP, a hospital or other local health service about medical treatments, appointments, home visits or other medical matters
• bank statements/letters
• building society savings books/letters
• council tax bills or statements
• electricity and/or gas bills or statements
• water rates bills or statements
• mortgage statements/agreement
• tenancy agreement(s)
• telephone bills or statements

Ahhh....im not sure. This bit always makes me anxious. I think the spacing looks ok, and i would assume the different statements can could as different sources since they are different banks but i am like you in doubting things like this. You still have time to get something different to ensure three totally different sources though. No other utilties?
Hopefully one of the experts will give you peace of mind. :)

Thanks very much,

So would I need more than just bank statements? Or would two years of spaced statements work? With the occasional car insurance renewal, etc thrown in?

Sorry to hijack the thread!

You need a minimum of three separate sources.
