Savings Vs Job
« on: January 26, 2020, 07:31:30 AM »
Hi.

8 weeks till wedding! In regards to the financial element for a spouse visa:

We have above the 62,500 in savings safely. So we're going to apply by this route.

I'm in a job in which I earn above threshold but have only been in it for a month since returning to the UK.

When we apply via the savings route, is my income/job icluded on the savings route application?

What are the impacts of not having a job/being under threshold/in freelance work with the savings route or having been in the job for a short time? If any?

The reason I ask is that im having a frustrating experience with my job and although I'm not seriously considering a change at this moment it's not entirely off the table if my working conditions don't improve in the next month or so.

If you have the savings, there is no need to provide evidence of employment.

You should make sure that you keep the money intact until the applicant has entered the country on the spouse visa.

If you are worried about an insecure job situation then maintain the savings for FLR. At that time again you would only need to provide evidence for the most recent 6 months before the application so you could spend them down as long as you got them up again before that timeframe.
