now i'm confused. the stuff you spread on bread is jam and doesn't usually have gelatin (in the uk); the stuff that wobbles about it jelly and that usually is gelatin.

right, that's right.  the above post didn't make that clear...i thought by jam you meant the wiggly stuff.  lol.

Sings: Must be jelly cause jam don't wobble like thaaaaat.

I think it's jam=jelly in American terms, jelly=jello.

i know it's made from hooves, that's the thing.  i'd rather NOT know who's hoof!!!

All i thought of whilst eating my chicken chow mein was pig hoof in it.

BLECH.

I think it's better that they list the animal.  There is a large population of people in the world who do not eat pork, so it's nice for them to know what they are about to dig into.  Likewise, things that may or may not contain certain things will help people to decide what to eat.  DF is a veggie, so he can not delight in the heaven that is Hostess, as all of thier products are made with beef fat.

I think it's jam=jelly in American terms, jelly=jello.

USA terms:  Jam=lumpy bits of fruit; Jelly=similar to jam, but made from fruit juices (no lumps); Jello=UK Jelly

Love is: Having your hubby search through any Sainsburys Be Good to Yourself meal in the prepared food aisle to be sure that there are no hoof byproducts in it.

It was so freaking cute, him waving them around at me saying 'this one is hoof free'   :D

I agree. There are also people with food allergies. It's better that they list all the ingredients.
