When to start the FLR application?
« on: February 07, 2020, 02:32:47 PM »
Afternoon all,

I am a teensy bit twitchy and feeling like I'm not even close to getting prepared. The last time we applied for a visa (going from fiancé to spouse- was that classed as FLR also?) we still had the old paper copy of the application I could print and "practise on essentially" get a feel for how it was worded etc. This time there doesn't appear to be a paper option so I am wondering about starting the application online so that I can at least see the format and questions, but is it too early? doe sit have to be completed in a certain time frame or can it be started 4 months early? ( We need to apply 01/06/2020 )

Oh my head, how does this process get you every single time!

Yes, you can make an account and start practicing, I think I read that you get several months ?six before you would have to start again.

This isn't really on point, as you were asking about how soon you can start the online application, but you said some things in your post that I want to highlight...

Your signature says your first FLR(M) was granted 11 January 2018.  But then you said you "need" to apply for your second FLR(M) 1 June 2020.  You won't be on your first FLR(M) for 30 months until 11 July 2020, so the earliest you should apply for your second FLR(M) is 28 days before that, or 13 June 2020.  Is there a reason you said you needed to apply 1 June?
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

Just having a quick look at your previous posts, you mentioned that your BRP expires on 27th July 2020. You were advised previously that the earliest date you can apply for the second FLR(M) is 29th June 2020.

Unless it's a typo in the first post and you meant you need to apply on 1st July 2020?
