ILR application date
« on: March 05, 2020, 09:00:51 PM »
Hello, firstly thank you all for your help over the past almost 5 years since I first arrived.
I have - I believe - a quick question.  I’m almost done gathering docs for my ILR 5 year spouse visa path - and wanted to confirm the exact date I can actually officially click submit (and pay)?

I flew on the 24th of April and arrived on the 25th of April 2015.

If I apply 28 days before - does that mean I can submit my app on the 28th of this month?  (March)

The earliest date you can submit the online application is 28 days before April 25th 2020... so, yes, that would be 28th March 2020 :).

A couple quick questions regarding documentation -

1 - For my UKC daughters I have a letter from their school confirming enrollment as well as their home address.  I also have one doctors letter for my one daughter.  Do I need a second letter for my other daughter?

2 - For the letters addressed to my husband and I - I cannot believe it but I didn’t retain these diligently over the last couple years.  We are missing a letter for November 2019 and one addressed to me for May 2019.  Has anyone had experience with this and any suggestions?

Try moving the whole lot up or down one month to see if you can get a better fit.

You aren't allowed to use back-dated correspondence, because you can only prove it was printed and mailed in March 2020 and not in May or November 2019... therefore, it cannot be used as evidence for May or November 2019 and can only be used as evidence for correspondence in March 2020.

If you are unable to provide enough correspondence documents, or if they do not meet the requirements, you will need to include an explanation for why you cannot provide them all.

I submitted my application today. There is no longer a priority option so had to just submit standard.  And as mentioned in another thread, there are no appointments so the site says to check back.

Does anyone know what happens with my documents where the date had to be within 28 days? Do I need to get them again once I finally get an appointment?

No. They need to be dated within the 28 days prior to the date of the online application, the date of the biometrics appointment is irrelevant.

Hiya, As you are ahead of us by about 6months for ILR and to pre empt any potential problems, could I ask what documentation is key for my wife (US Citizen) and I to start gathering/thinking of ahead of our Nov 15th application date?

It's pretty much the same documentation as for FLR(M), but she must also have passed the Life in the UK test before applying.

She will need:
- Accommodation evidence (will depend on your living situation... renting, own, or live with family/friends)

- Financial requirement evidence (will depend on what financial category you are applying under)

- Relationship evidence - your marriage certificate, any divorce decrees, plus the 6 items of correspondence in each name spread evenly over the last 2.5 years.

Assuming your situation is the same as when you applied for FLR, you will need all of the same evidence with the addition of the life in the UK test pass. The correspondence should be spaced over 2.5 years this time instead of 2 years.

If the way you are going to be meeting the financial of accommodation requirements has changed, let us know the new situation and we can tell you what you need.

Thank you. Pleased to report we are in exactly the same situation. Both working full time, we live at the same address and still happily married :)
