I came across this gluten free food box for delivery if it's of interest to anyone with food intolerances who may be struggling to find what they need?

My husband just got a letter from his surgery saying he is extremely vulnerable and should not go out... It's a bit late for that... I literally had to go to the grocery store today as we needed groceries.

At least he's getting signed up on that stupid website (which his conditions aren't on the list, so he doesn't want to say 'yes, I have a condition on the list' because it's a lie). So what. He has a letter, just say yes. At least the MS website says to say yes, and that the website is simply terrible.

We should have gotten this letter weeks ago. Just proof that his GP office is shite when it comes to paperwork.

At least I already got grocery orders until April 29. It'll make it easier though. I hope.

If the honor system of who is vulnerable was used, I shudder to think of the abuse. One trip to a grocery store and have a look at the cars in the disabled and parent/child bays would show you that MANY people don’t care about “the rules”.

Lyonaria, a pal who had an organ transplant only got his letter on Monday. I suspect it was a huge amount of admin for the NHS to sort, in addition to providing care.  I’m glad you are (finally) sorted though.

I think you're right, KFD, plus I don't think the whole system is on the same page about who patients are supposed to be getting letters from - is it from the NHS directly, or from the NHS through their GP - and who patients are supposed to contact if they are in a vulnerable category but haven't received a letter, or when they should've received a letter. Our GP has posted messages on their Facebook page twice in the last two weeks asking people not to contact them about NHS letters, because they were still waiting for guidance from the NHS to tell them who was supposed to get a letter and who wasn't. The most recent post said the NHS was currently working on the 2nd and 3rd groups of letters, and they were expecting them to go out in the next few days.

In Wales, the letters were sent out by the Chief Medical Officer...(?) with Public Health Wales, who compiled their list based on specific diagnoses in digital charts within NHS Wales.  People who are extremely vulnerable, but whose specific diagnoses didn't contain the keywords that NHS Wales searched for so they got missed out were instructed to contact their GPs, who could then check the file manually to confirm the person belongs on the list, then the GP surgery could contact Public Health Wales to get the person added.

However, as far as I can tell, supermarkets in Wales are not using the list to let those people book slots.  The system here isn't quite as streamlined as what England appears to have... even though it's the same supermarkets, and there is a list here.

Right now, I am on the list, so if I need to sort out supermarket slots or some community-based support, I can.  But as long as my husband remains healthy, we are going to carry on as we have been.  There are people who need the support more than we do.

Thanks, not quite sorted yet, but on our way there.

I think I should tell my work even though I am furloughed that Dan has this letter, but he thinks I should wait.

I agree with you.  Just let them know.

I've been going to Tesco and what a friggin hassle!  Wait outside in a long snaky line for 20 minutes and shop carefully as heck to try to get it all in one go.  It's getting more and more like going to an airport every time.

This is heartbreaking and doesn't include all of the NHS staff who have passed away, and so many more are still battling this. :( The government needs to pull their head out and get them PPE. I'm making the facemask holders to help save ears at local hospitals with crochet (100% cotton that can be washed at 100 degrees, giving many for infection control)

Same for me when I went to Sainsbury's on Thursday. I got a full trolly and we're good until my Tesco delivery on the 16th.

My brother-in-law, who is still working has taken the opportunity to do some work in the garden over the weekend but had run out of sandpaper while treating the furniture so texted me. I walked over with about 8 sheets and after dropping them off and chatting from the end of driveway with him and my sister walked to the corner shop (Sainsbury's Local) to pick up some fresh fruit and veg. While waiting to pay I saw they were selling off Cadbury Easter bunnies so I put one in my basket. On the way back from the store I called at my son's house (37 year old living alone), put the bunny on the doorstep, rang his doorbell then hid behind his car. Took him a while to look down and spot the rabbit, then we chatted for a few minutes before I walked home.  That's my exercise, shopping, and mental health sorted out today.

We got all of our pressure washing done this weekend with the exception of the patio In front of the playhouse.  That had loads of weeds in the pavers so I sprayed those last week.  Weeds have died off now so ready for its cleaning.

Easter egg hunt yesterday, lots of time outside.  Today e are all still in Panama’s and binge watching America’s Got Talent.

Did an almost complete family “hangout” call yesterday which was really nice.  Only one cousin wasn’t able to join.

I need to gather motivation this week to do all the crap jobs around the house that need doing.  I shall report later if I accomplished a single thing!
