I know  :-\\\\ Things are actually improving here (at least where I am). Businesses opening, some HOPE again. Ohio was one of the first states to issue a stay at home order back in mid March.

I'm looking forward to seeing my husband. I'm not looking forward to going back to the UK in these times. I know I have a visa due and everything, but a part of me questions if it's even a wise idea to travel back to the UK now.... If it weren't for the visa, I would probably stay put and wait a little longer to travel. I'm really torn about this, and I don't feel comfortable.
It's widely reported that Boris will put in place rules that everyone flying into the UK has to isolate for 14 days.  For some unknown reason, this may start in June and not right away.  Might want to plan around that.  I think there will be more details in the Boris speech at 8 pm tonight.

Still going to work 5 days a week, and working OT today (double time for a Sunday), keying transactions for Coronavirus Business Interruption Loans.

Good deal, you are lucky to not have to worry about money.

I know you're right... and I am very thankful that I still have a job and my income hasn't been affected.
But there is a part of me that is really bitter and jealous of my furloughed colleagues just having a happy wee time relaxing in the sunshine, and those who are able to work from home...even though they are working, it's got to be more relaxed and pleasant to be doing that in the comfort of your own home than having to drag your ars* into the office and do all the awkward social distancing, wiping down of desks and printers and phones and door handles, etc.  I'm sick of it.

I get it.

There is a mutiny at my old job.  Those who are working, have taken a 40% pay cut.  Those who are furloughed are at home getting 80%.

I think it’s ridiculous that you can’t work form home Albatross. If you’re sitting in front of a computer all day, you should be able to.

That's it... it's all system-based, no necessary face-to-face, no paper files, no actual reason to be here apart from the fact they won't supply me with a laptop and a security token.  I was seething for several weeks, but have given up now... bad for my health!  I just turn up every day like a zombie, do my work and go.  The work comes in fits and starts... which is why you're seeing me here on UKY off and on throughout the day!

Happy first day! I hope this company treats you much more kindly than the last!

I'm still struggling with my hunt. The workplace is changing but attitudes towards disability and remote work on a semi permanent basis don't seem to be yet, and the market is so saturated if you don't have everything they are asking for you won't get an interview. My previous job set me so far back skills-wise because they lied to me that I no longer have what they want, and all the online training in the world won't compare to people who have been working with the enterprise level software for years. Feeling extremely worn down.
