I really hope it doesn't reach you there, ksand!  How are medical facilities, should it come to that?  Is it going to be a problem there?
It’s hard to tell - most people here are relatively young and healthy because you need a work permit to live here as an adult (even if you were born here), so there’s no elderly population.

On the other hand, there are 800 people here but only one small hospital with 2 doctors, 5 nurses and 1 bed (plus the base medical centre, which has one exam room, a medic and a nurse). We’re in the process of trying to get 1 ventilator here from South Africa (which I think may be arriving on the flight tonight).

Usually if anything medically serious happens to anyone, they are Medevac’d to another country with better medical facilities.

I hope all goes well ksand24 and you stay safe!

My positive of the day is that my company has been helping with the packing and shipping of PPE to hospitals (as we make medical products and have the ability to maintain traceability and the clean space, etc and the logistical knowhow) and then also providing our local hospital with boxes (we get one of our raw materials delivered in cardboard boxes which are ideal for moving house -and therefore ideal for helping here)-  to help them shift and move stuff and organise more space for covid-19 patients. It's a small, gesture but is a good help for them.

I took the opportunity to experiment even more with my hair. So I had Stuart shave it at a #6. I bleached it and dyed it dark silver.

I can't wait to see the actual colour in the light tomorrow.

And here is my young twin with her buzz, which inspired me to do mine.

I am watching hubby's hair grow and sharpening up my scissors.  Nowadays you have to get your fun where you can. Evil cackle.

I'm here with my husband (and cat) instead of in the US. I am so grateful we are going through this together, rather than me being in the US and wondering when I would ever get my visa. I am also thankful that I was able to register with a GP and get my medication before this happened. I also have a National Insurance number for whenever it's safe to look for work again. My husband is unable to work from home, as he works security at homeless hostels. I am glad he hasn't lost his job and that the residents have to stay in their rooms. I do worry that he will get sick, but at least I am here to look after him if that happens.

How many times a day do you have to say that? I’m betting 350

I don't work with the public so 0. Lol. I work in a dispensary down in our basement. I work with a team of 3 other full time staff, dispensing medication for 19 local care homes.

It is like working in a small office as we do a lot of admin/paperwork as well plus our dispensing.

Some positive news from me!  After extensive tweaking and replacing many parts, the 3d printer is going again.  We've printed one prototype visor and will hopefully get moving on printing some more for our local GPs.  I've heard that one of them was in tears when they received one that my friend printed.

Positive to some, not to others - Apparently there is an absolute flood of new properties on the rental market in London and other popular cities and they are cheap!  Seems like all the people who rented properties to sub-let them as Air BnBs are now in big trouble.
