My British husband is a freelancer.  He has his own company and pays himself from the company.  100% of his work has disappeared for at least the next several months.

Since he owns the company that pays him, he's not sure whether his situation will qualify for the grant announced by the Chancellor last week that covers 80% of a worker's salary.

I know that I have no access to public funds as a condition of my visa.  Does anyone know if my husband receives money from this grant whether that would violate the terms of my visa?

Thanks very much.

I believe there is a separate program for self employed.

As long as HE is eligible for public funds, it’s fine!  Won’t effect you.

Hugs during this awful time.

Yes, at the moment they are vamping up Universal credit for the self employed. They know it's not enough though and are working on doing more to help.

Thanks very much for your replies.  We didn't think it would be an issue but we wanted to make sure.

Sending a virtual hug to everyone during this challenging time.
